DJ/Producer Refracture Called Datlabs To Save His Music
Refracture A.K.A. Paul Dobson is the newest big thing as far as bass driven music and breaks go. Refracture's stage presence, energy, and completely unique style has got him recognition from The Crystal Method, Beatman And Ludilla, Matt Darey, and Far Too Loud. Not to mention, he's received support from the Ministry of Sound and the BBC, which is something to be proud of. Refracture has also been involved in remixing such artists as Lady Gaga, Deadmau5, and the most influential modern artist, Radiohead.
Refracture is always producing new material, and it was a serious problem one day when he was switching computers and couldn't access his external hard drive anymore. 750GB of new and old mixes, all gone.
Worried, anxious, and freaking the hell out, he started calling every data recovery company he could find. He needed help and advice, and he needed it ASAP. Datlabs (of Data Clinic Ltd) diagnosed the problem over the phone, and helped advise the correct procedures to get his music back to safety. The next day, Refracture had it packed up and shipped straight from his house to Datlabs.
Datlabs has some awesome specialist equipment that could successfully read the data on Refracture's hard drive, even though the hard drive was damaged. Datlabs has some seriously smart technicians who easily rebuilt the data, and even had it back into the same File/Folder organization that only Refracture knew. When I say "easily", I mean easy for the technicians. I doubt you or I could do it. On a new external hard drive, all of the data was safe and sent right back to Refracture's front door, the next day.
If you check out the Refracture Facebook page, you can see that he said "These guys saved my music and kept Refracture up and running! Last week my hard drive went down...I hadn’t backed up some of my best and newest material. Needless to say I was devastated. Gave these guys a call, very friendly and kept me updated throughout. What’s more they were loving the breaks! If any of you guys have an HDD problem I couldn’t higher recommend datlabs.co.uk".
Tech Info: A very common problem known as "degraded media" was the issue here. It could happen to anyone, and it happens to a lot of people, regularly. Detailed Explanation: Data in a computer is stored as a bunch of 1's and 0's known as binary code or bits. In memory, there are sectors that hold the data to be retrieved. A standard drive will have hundreds of millions of these sectors storing data. If one sector becomes bad, it's inaccessible and basically lost.
